Filled with birthday cheer, I spent most of my days in March celebrating the exists of some amazing people that I am blessed to have in my life. This specific celebration took place at District in Oakland for my friend, Amber’s 26th birthday.
“Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let’s not be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity.”
With young-adulthood comes a care package filled with an overwhelming amount of responsibilities. Real jobs, real bills, real dreams to aspire to reach our full potential. However, it’s important to take a time-out with friends and family to celebrate it all. Remember, your happiness is a “responsibility” too. If life isn’t worth celebrating, are we really alive?
